Piti is a coastal village on the western side of Guam, located around Apra Harbor and the island’s central western shoreline. Its landscape includes limestone hills, mangrove areas, coral reefs, and sheltered coastal waters, while the village itself contains residential neighborhoods, historic sites, and small commercial areas. Piti has an important connection to Guam’s maritime infrastructure because Apra Harbor provides one of the island’s principal deep-water ports. The village also offers access to several sites that illustrate Guam’s Indigenous heritage, wartime history, and marine environment.

Piti's cultural landscape reflects CHamoru traditions alongside the island's Spanish, American, and military history. The San Dionisio Catholic Church is a local landmark, while the nearby Sella Bay and other coastal areas contain archaeological and cultural resources associated with CHamoru settlement. Piti is also home to the Fish Eye Marine Park area, where visitors can learn about Guam's reef environment. Local festivals and community events incorporate CHamoru food, dance, music, and religious traditions. The village's location around Apra Harbor has also made it an important part of Guam's modern maritime history.

Marine environments are among Piti's principal attractions. Piti Bomb Holes Marine Preserve protects coral reef habitat along the western coast and takes its name from distinctive underwater reef depressions created by geological and wave processes. The Piti Bay area provides opportunities for snorkeling and observing tropical marine life, while the Fish Eye Marine Park has an underwater observatory connected to a pier extending into the lagoon. The surrounding waters contain coral gardens, reef fish, and other marine species. Inland, limestone hills and forested areas provide a contrasting landscape to the protected coastal waters.

Piti's food traditions are part of the broader culinary culture of Guam, where CHamoru cooking incorporates local ingredients with influences from the Philippines, Spain, Japan, and the United States. Kelaguen, made with chopped seafood or meat, lemon juice, coconut, and peppers, is a well-known CHamoru dish. Red rice, barbecue, finadene sauce, and taro are also common at family gatherings and celebrations. Seafood has a natural connection to Piti's coastal setting, while coconut and tropical fruits remain important ingredients. Local fiestas often provide opportunities to encounter traditional foods alongside music and community activities.
